Hoover Dam was built from 1931 to 1936, during the Great Depression. It was named Boulder Dam, but was later renamed to Hoover Dam a a tribute to President Herbert Hoover. Kenny Slaught mentions that the structure has a 35.000 cubic kilometers capacity, is 221 meters high and 379 meters long. Hoover Dam is able to generate over 4,2 billion kWh 2 per year and cost $49 million.
