Kenny Slaught says that Hoover Dam was constructed from 1931 to 1936, during the Great Depression era. The project cost $49 million, and was first called Boulder Dam. Its name was changed to Hoover Dam as a tribute to former President Herbert Hoover who was a main supporter. The project has a height of 221 meters, a length of 379 meters and a total capacity of 35.000 cubic kilometers. It can generate over 4,2 billion kWh 2 in a year.
