Hospice of Santa Barbara supports its terminally ill patients and their families through its many programs, from which some address children. Some 20 percent of kids experience the death of an adult in their life before 18, and one in 20’s parents die before the child reaches adult age. The organization comforts those dealing with grief which in return minimizes issues like depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
