Santa Barbara’s most popular buildings include the hundreds of years old Hotel Virginia, El Pueblo Viejo district and the Old Mission’s pink towers where parties are hosted. The County Courthouse features vibrant tiles that showcase murals, and the clock tower and observation deck offer a beautiful sight over Santa Barbara. Lobero theatre was finished in 1873, redesigned by George Washington Smith in the 1920s and still hosts performances today. These are only a few examples of the city planner’s detailed oriented eye, without which the structures wouldn’t have been possible.
